Perfume accessories and the different types of scent available: part 2In the previous article, we discussed about the motivation of people, in particular women wearing perfume and jewellery, which gives rise to the availability of fragrance necklaces, scent pendants and perfume accessories. Affordability is a big concern and such fragrance necklaces are known to be available in different price groups depending on the type of material used in making them. In this section, we will explore the numerous selections of scent you can find in stores.
Scent types were categorized in early 20th century. Thanks to great advancement in the technology of perfume creation, more and more distinct types of scents have emerged. In the early days, most fragrances were extracted and conjured from natural plants and fruits. Due to compound design, synthesis and the changing of tastes over the years, perfumers have come up with new scents to cater to different desires. 1. Floral Fragrance NecklaceAs the name suggests, floral simply means that the scent is created mainly from flowers. Since flowers such as roses, jasmines, lavender and gardenias are mostly associated with sweet smell, it is no surprise that this category is easily the largest and most popular among consumers. Chypre Fragrance NecklaceA rather foreign name as you can tell, Chypre was named by a French perfumer, Francois Coty. ‘Chypre’ means Cyprus in French, and the scent is created based on his impression of the island. The scent under this category is extracted from certain resins and lichens such as oak moss, patchouli and bergamot. Hints of these extracts in your fragrance necklace tend to diffuse a sweet, earthly aroma which makes you feel like you are in close contact with Mother Nature. 3. Citrus Fragrance NecklaceThis fragrance type is derived from citrus fruits which include lemon, tangerine, lime, mandarin and more. Compared to most other scents, this particular category projects a sharp, tangy aroma.
